We are Raymond & Terri, the husband and wife coaching team behind Smile & Sweat Fitness .
Fitness wasn't always a huge part of our lives. In fact, like lots of others who grew up in the 90s, health and wellbeing came wrapped up in a lot of toxic ideas shaped by pressures to look a certain way- with success linked to a number on a scale.
Our journey with reshaping our attitude to fitness and health really began in our 30s when we both discovered running whilst navigating tricky periods in our own lives. We hadn't yet met but running brought us together, eventually!
What started as a way to feel better physically became something much bigger. Movement became something that transformed how we felt- something we believe everyone should have access to.
Over the years since making those initial changes when we took up running, we've since completed marathons and ultra marathons, built community programmes that help hundreds of people through working with The Positive Movement Project, widened our knowledge and skillset and supported people to feel better about themselves, transforming their relationship with fitness.
We believe fitness should help you feel stronger, more confident and more capable, whatever stage of life you're at.
Our approach focuses on helping others rediscover the joy of movement and make positive, balanced changes- so you're ready for whatever life throws at you. We love seeing our clients challenge what they thought were their limits and surpass them, discovering they was more in them than they realised! And that journey starts with small steps, building habits and creating sustainable changes that work with your life, not against it. We are passionate about helping you fall in love with fitness and start treating your body with the love and compassion it deserves. You are more than a number on a scale! Movement has the power to change the way you think and feel and we'd love to help you discover what it can do for you.
